Telengana – An allergic union and an imbecile separation
The region known as Telengana now, was under the rule of Kakatiya King Pratapa Rudra till CE 1310. Allaudin Khilji defeated Pratapa and captured Warrangal his Capital. It is recorded that the booty was taken by 1000 camels to Delhi from here and that included, believe it, the Kohinoor. The region was looted and people were killed with ruthlessness unprecedented. With the invaders gone with their loot anarchy spread over the region and someone had to take initiative to bring order.
In 1336 the Shankaracharya of Sringeri Sharadha Peetam, Sri Sri Vidhyaranya Mahaswamiji had identified two young men who were converted to Islam by the invaders, brought them back to the mother religion and set them up as leaders of the defenders of order of the soil, Sanathana Dharma. They went on to establish the Vijayanagar Empire which stood as a firewall protecting the people from Islamic invasion and conversion, while encouraging the Bhakthi movement to keep the spirit of the soil alive.
